A little bit about us…
We are open from 6:45am - 5:45pm ( Monday- Friday)
The Imagination Tree is a play-based program, and a family environment that focuses on ensuring that the safety, security, well-being and development of children will be supported and preserved through play, proper nutrition, exercise, respect and kindness for others.
With the assistance of our qualified staff we provide a holistic approach to supporting a child’s mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs that are appropriate for their own stage of development. We all play a role in building a strong family community which includes the involvement and engagement of parents and guardians.
Children thrive with consistent routines and consistent caregivers. Daily routines address daily care needs and provide a balance of staff directed and child-led activities including ample blocks of uninterrupted time. These routines are posted in each room. This allows for a clear understanding towards how children are able to actively explore and develop their mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs in a safe, secure, and predictable way. Much of a child’s learning takes place when they can direct their own play activities, this is applicable to all age groups!
Our outside play space includes many elements of nature such as trees, grass, rocks and pebbles, sand and water and a planting garden. An area to utilize gross motor activities is included.
Letting children touch, manipulate, explore and experiment with their environments allows a child to be a co-constructor, especially if time to share new understandings is given.
Scaffolding new learning based on previously learned skills allows a child to feel a real sense of confidence and embracing the image of the child as strong and capable.
“A child’s greatest achievements are possible in play, achievements that tomorrow will become their basic level of real action” Les Vygotsky
